Is this a nursing home?
No, we are not a nursing home. We are a government-funded facility that provides a meal at noon and a place for our seniors to enjoy their day!
Do you have to be a member?
Yes and no!
You do not have to be a member to join us for the noon meal, though you need to be 60 or older or accompanying someone who is of age.
You do need to be a member in order to participate in the activities provided at the center, however. The fee is low: $5.00 per month, $30.00 for six months, or $60.00 for a full year. All payments need to be made in person or mailed to our PO Box. No cash through the mail, please. We accept cash, checks. and money orders. No debit or credit cards, please.
If you are 90 or older, you do not have to pay for membership!
When do you serve lunch?
We start serving at 12:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays except on holidays. Please, if you are wishing to join us to contact us! This will ensure we have enough of our delicious meal for all who attend.
Is there a charge for the meal?
There is no charge for the meal, though we do ask for a $4.00 donation to help cover the cost of the food.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, you are free to bring guest with you. However, we do ask that you let us know ahead of time (at least before 10:00 am the day of) so that we can assure that we have enough meals.
For those that are between 55 and 59, we ask for a $5.00 donation. For those under 55, we ask for $8.00 donation. This helps cover the cost of the food used to make the meals.
Do I need to wear a mask?
You are not required to wear a mask. If you feel more comfortable wearing one, you will not be discriminated against. We are here for your comfort!
We do ask, however, if you are feeling ill to not come in. We care for all our seniors and put their health first.
My spouse is over 60, can I be a member?
Yes, if your spouse is over 60, you are allowed to become a member.
Can I have my meal to go?
Currently, we are allowing for take out orders to be made. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be allowed to continue from here on. We are under government regulations and must abide by what they ask. If they tell us we cannot anymore, we will have to stop.
If you are wanting a to go plate, we ask that you come in to pick it up around 12:15 to allow for the line to go down.
